Annotation: This paper proposes a systematic approach to improving the effectiveness of the university (for example, Vyatka State University) on the principles of the Lean Production. System improvements should be expressed not only in enhancing the value of the educational services provided to the economy in general and for the trainees, but and in the improving the effectiveness of the working processes of the university. Solution of the problem is achieved by transforming the working process of University on the principles of continuous improvement (Kaizen) with simultaneous implementation of lean manufacturing training in the educational process of the University.
