The study identifies the general definition of market structural changes and strategic transformation, analyzes statistical data and financial reports, and conducts a comparative analysis of the room inventory volume of hotel chains. The findings indicate significant growth in Russian hotel chains driven by market structural changes. The role of government initiatives, such as the national project “Tourism and Hospitality”, and regulatory measures in supporting the industry is highlighted. Special attention is given to the adaptation of hotel chains to new travel trends. In conclusion, the study establishes that market structural changes have simultaneously posed challenges and served as catalysts for strategic transformation and import substitution in the hotel industry. The research findings can be used for further strategic planning in the develop- ment of the hotel business in Russia, as well as for shaping adaptation strategies in response to evolving market conditions. Additionally, the results may be valuable for regulators and the academic community specializing in tourism and hospitality research.
