Annotation: The aim of the study is to provide a multidimensional methodological description of a distance project for introducing foreign language students to the cultural heritage of a particular region of the target language in Russian as a foreign language classes. The subject of the study is the methodology of formation of non-native speakers’ readiness to learn Russian through the project “Hospitable Russia”. Pedagogical science recognizes the need to implement distance forms of learning, which acquire special significance in work with foreigners. In the practice of teaching Russian in a foreign audience it is necessary to form in students an idea of the studied language through the system of knowledge about the culture of the country as a whole and a separate region in particular. In the course of the research the authors turned to the following methods: pedagogical observation, empirical generalization, methodological experiment. The article presents the methodological development of the creative project “Hospitable Russia” for foreign students from the Republic of Uganda. Based on the conducted experimental training, the authors make suggestions for further development and improvement of the project for its implementation in the audience of students from African countries.
