It is shown that the results shown by Russian schoolchildren approximately correspond to the average results of the study as a whole, but still remain lower than the average for the group of OECD countries. Improvement of indicators is possible through the organization of elective classes, for which teachers should be awarded a stimulating salary Supplement, the amount of which depends on the results shown by students in the PISA study. The proposed approach will significantly improve the quality of General education and the efficiency of teaching staff.
