Annotation: The paper deals with application of geoinformatics and remote sensing in monitoring marine pollution. In particular, solved the problem of determining the specific surface of marine vessels. Reveals the specificity of geo-information approach for monitoring pollution of the sea. As a basis for monitoring use radar images (SAR images) are shown and disclosed in the basic problems that arise in the recognition slikoobrazuyuschih phenomena.
